Gabriel started his career in education as a design technology teacher. His passion for service and citizenship steered him towards experiential learning, community partnerships, and educational leadership. At The American School of Mozambique, he co-lead the Integrated Learning Department, which is responsible for all educational activities that happen outside the classroom in the school.

Philosophy was the core of his studies at the University of São Paulo. He completed a master in Ethics Applied to Development at Linköping’s University. He is currently pursuing a Master at SUNY Buffalo. His professional trajectory allowed him to attend several AISA Conferences around Africa including Service Learning 101 and advanced, JOSTI and Foresight teacher training in the US, and several online courses on for IBDP such as CAS. He also was an active member of the AISA Service Learning Working Group before heading back to Brasil.

He dedicated over a decade of his life studying and practicing Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art which he taught in Maputo to a group of youngsters, and which forms the main reference of his educational beliefs.
